Arsenal’s Alexandre Lacazette replies to Moussa Sissoko message following derby draw

Spicy, eh? It’s just a shame the hardman facade was ruined by a friendly message from Arsenal’s Lacazette in the comments section – you know, the guy who helped fell your side…

Call us old fashioned but isn’t it a bit weird when players from sworn rivals communicate publicly straight after a game? At least pretend like you want to two-foot each other into oblivion.

Manchester United’s Andreas Pereira shares a video of his first goal for the club

[ad_pod ]

Andreas Pereira has had a pretty mixed career at Manchester United.

The 23-year-old midfielder has been one of the Red Devils throughout pretty much the entirety of his career as he played for their U18 squad and then advanced through the ranks to finally reach the senior team in 2015.

But not everything was as rosy as it may sound at first.

He spent a lot of time away from Old Trafford, jumping from loan to loan and, for the most part, never being able to settle completely.

And now he has taken to

/B1eQfXFn2oo/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link” data-lasso->Instagram to share a brilliant throwback snap accompanied with the footage of his first-ever goal for Manchester United.

He called it a very special day and shared a snap in which he can be seen in Wayne Rooney’s embrace. That was followed by the footage itself.

Since his debut for the senior team, Pereira has played a total of 37 games for the Red Devils, scoring two goals and assisting further two in the process.

Ex-Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku takes to Twitter to say goodbye to club

[ad_pod ]

We had to wait until the last day of the 2019 summer transfer window in the Premier League, but Romelu Lukaku has now officially become a new Inter Milan player after his departure from Manchester United.

The Belgian forward has penned his new contract with the Italian side and will move to Serie A on a permanent basis and until at least 30 June 2024.

[ad_pod ]

And of course, he has quickly taken to social media and Twitter to send a message to both his former and present club.

His farewell note to the Red Devils was somewhat short and to the point but the one to Inter seemed just a bit more cheerful as Lukaku expressed his happiness to be a part of his new club.

As far as his stint at Old Trafford is concerned, he joined the Red Devils in the summer of 2017 from Everton and netted 42 goals from 96 games in total.

He is also quite experienced on the international stage, scoring 48 goals in just 81 games for Belgium.[ad_pod ]

Liverpool fans react to Alexander-Arnold’s questionable England showing

[ad_pod ]

Trent Alexander-Arnold earned his seventh cap for England on Wednesday and his performance has drawn praise from Liverpool fans.

The Three Lions ran out 5-3 winners, though the full-back was not as defensively solid as usual, whilst his normally effective crossing – as evidenced by his nine assists from crossing last season – was below par, with his four attempts failing to reach a target.

There is significant competition for the right-back spot in Gareth Southgate’s squad, with Kieran Trippier starting the previous match against Bulgaria, and Kyle Walker and Aaron Wan-Bissaka also strong candidates for the role.

That means there is competition for places, and so far in a Three Lions shirt, Alexander-Arnold has underperformed in a key aspect of his game – creating chances – as he is still yet to register an assist at international level.

Despite that, fans are impressed with what they saw last night, with some just relieved to see him get through the 90 minutes injury-free, alongside teammate Jordan Henderson.

Rangers fans call for Ryan Kent again as he misses out on Liverpool Under-23 game

Ryan Kent was left out of Liverpool Under-23s’ 3-0 defeat to Chelsea on Monday, giving the Rangers fans hope they might see him make an Ibrox return before the end of the month.

The snub comes just days after the ex-Gers loanee posted a cryptic message on his Instagram that appeared to suggest that the Reds were holding him back.

It’s been a summer of speculation for the winger, who’s seen links to the Gers and Leeds cool down in recent weeks.

The greatest player ever to grace the Scottish Premiership is revealed in the video below…

It’s no surprise that the Ibrox faithful want to see Kent in the famous Light Blue again. The winger was brilliant for Steven Gerrard’s side last season, scoring six times and setting up another nine in his 43 appearances, and he eventually won the PFA Young Player of the Year.

As well as being excited about a potential reunion with Kent, some supporters are getting annoyed by the Premier League club’s treatment of the 22-year-old. These Gers fans don’t appreciate the way the youngster is being treated by his parent club at a time when it might be best for all parties if he were to leave Anfield.

Here’s how they reacted to the latest news on Twitter…

Everton’s Tom Davies swarmed by comments after fashionable Instagram snap

[ad_pod ]

Everton have started the new 2019/20 Premier League season quite well.

After the first two games the Toffees have four points, claiming a draw against Crystal Palace on the opening day of the campaign and then following it up with a narrow 1-0 victory over Watford at home.

It’s going to be a long season but there are some early promising signs for Marco Silva to take confidence from.

Still, Tom Davies has been more active on social media as of late, posting different fashionable snaps on

His latest one was from Paris as the young 21-year-old midfielder took a trip to the City of Lights.

And it didn’t take long for his friends to take notice of the new snap as they quickly rushed to Instagram to leave their replies.

James Maddison and Reiss Nelson seemed particularly in awe of the fashionable picture.

But this is not really a surprise from Davies.

Looking at his social media account, it’s fairly easy to conclude he does this on a regular basis, sharing all kinds of fashionable snaps.

Southampton fans furious with Jack Stephens after performance in Burnley defeat

[ad_pod ]

After arriving from Plymouth back in 2011, Jack Stephens has spent a good few years learning his trade whilst on loan at various sides in English football.

Since making his Premier League breakthrough for Southampton in the 2016/2017 season, Stephens has endured a rather indifferent career at St Mary’s.

The centre-back has found himself in and out of the team, and has struggled to really nail down a place in the starting line-up under a number of Saints managers.

After getting the nod for the side’s opening Premier League clash of the season against Burnley, Stephens had a performance to forget and looked all at sea at Turf Moor.

[ad_pod ]

The 25-year-old didn’t complete a single tackle whilst on the pitch and registered a very measly 61.1% pass accuracy, before being hooked by Ralph Hasenhuttl in the 73rd minute.

Following the side’s disappointing 3-0 defeat, Southampton fans took to Twitter to voice their displeasure and many were furious with Stephens’ performance.

Many felt the defender simply “isn’t good enough” and had cost the side numerous points over the course of his Southampton career.

Indeed, some insisted Stephens is not of the required quality at Premier League level and urged Hasenhuttl to stop playing him in the first-team.

Check out some of the reaction of Southampton fans below:

Wolves boss Nuno Santo’s decision to rest Joao Moutinho proved costly against Everton

[ad_pod ]

This article is part of Football FanCast’s The Chalkboard series, which provides a tactical insight into teams, players, managers, potential signings and more…

Wolves’ run without a Premier League victory this season continued on Sunday as they were defeated 3-2 at Goodison Park.

An entertaining five-goal thriller was played out which ultimately handed Nuno Santo’s side their first defeat of the season, leaving them 17th in the table.

Richarlison scored both the opener and the winner whilst Romain Saiss, and Raul Jimenez netted for the visitors – Willy Boly was also sent off deep into stoppage time for an unnecessary challenge which earned him a second yellow card.

The Portuguese boss made four changes to the side that defeated Torino in midweek to earn a place in the Europa League group stages.

Saiss, Ruben Neves and Leander Dendoncker were deployed in a three-man midfield in a move that looked somewhat defensive.

On the Chalkboard

Wolves were outplayed in pretty much every facet of the game with the scoreline flattering them slightly even despite the defeat.

Everton had more possession (58.8%), recorded more shots (15) and had a better pass success rate of 80%, per WhoScored.

The problem appeared to be in attack, where Joao Moutinho proved to be a disastrous absence.

Have you heard the strangest chant in the Premier League yet? Hear it in the video below…

Wolves made just 108 passes in the final third, 80 less than Everton managed whilst their entire team could only muster five key balls, three of which came from the defence.

Moutinho is one of the best passers in Nuno’s side, averaging a success rate of 82.4% per game, higher than any other midfielder in the squad – he is also just one of two players to record an assist this season in the Premier League.

The 32-year-old also averages 1.8 key passes per match which is again the best in the team – considering an international break is on the horizon, it seems like it was the wrong decision to rest him for this game, especially as the likes of Bruno Fernandes and Bernardo Silva are likely to be favoured over the 32-year-0ld.

Moutinho registered eight assists last term so it was hardly a surprise that they lacked creativity without him. This was a baffling call from Nuno.
