Twitter explodes following Tottenham manager’s sacking
After much speculation, Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy finally exercised the contractual clause to dispense with Tim Sherwood’s services as manager. The news that nearly everybody had expected for some time eventually broke earlier today, with Southampton manager Mauricio Pochettino identified by many outlets as the most likely successor.
A divisive figure in the dugout, Sherwood’s sacking received a mixed response from Spurs’ fans on Twitter.
Once the news broke, several users identified their reasons behind the sacking.
Other football fans decided to make light of Sherwood’s departure.
